A sheep, is a sheep, is a sheep, or perhaps not. Which sheep can discern what kinds of sheep are in the flocks (churches or ministries) in which they are a part of the sheepfold? Which sheep can discern if their undershepherds are living laborious lives full of ceaseless watchfulness, love and concern for Christ’s sheep, opting to stay with them day and night? Which sheep know if their undershepherds are living convenient lives full of pretentious power, filthy greed, and evil deception and seduction—who will choose to flee when the going gets tough, or when offers of greener pastures come their way?
In order for us to come direct and correct with others about what is or isn’t in the Word of God, we must stop putting all of our trust in men and women for them to tell us what “thus saith the Lord.” Instead of just gobbling up men and women’s teachings and interpretations of the WORD, we also must read, examine and meditate on God’s Word for ourselves so that we might be able to show God that we truly know and understand what He is saying to us.
