The Spiritual Disorder In Today’s CHURCH

The twenty-first century CHURCH, as a Body of Believers, is in “spiritual” disorder, primarily because the CHURCH has strayed away from God’s original intent for the entire Body—strayed away from being ONE as He is ONE. When members in the Body of Christ are no longer operating as ONE united Body, but are separated by denominational and theological partitions, which are nothing more than discriminatory practices of dogmatism (rigidity), sexism, ageism, and sometimes racism, then God’s “out-of-order” signs come out. When splintered groups (men, women, children; evangelicals, charismatics, fundamentalists; etcetera) demonstrate a “way” that is in opposition with Jesus the Christ’s initial “WAY” and/or teach a slanted truth about the Gospel and the Kingdom of God in their messages, God’s “out-of-order” signs begin to flash.

When the CHURCH’S biblically outlined leadership structure changes and pastors become the primary spiritual leaders in God’s CHURCH (the ONLY ones people “should” listen to about godly spirituality), then the “out-of-order” signs start flashing. When individuals’ preached messages and imparted teachings are counterproductive to the work of God, producing strife and division instead of peace and oneness in His CHURCH, God’s “out-of-order” signs begin to flash.

The ineffective “spiritual” Body of Christ is what is binding the Holy Spirit’s hands and perpetuating the “spiritual” disorder that exists worldwide in the present-day CHURCH. From the CHURCH’S inception, God intended that Jesus the Christ’s CHURCH would be built with spiritual matter and have the Lord as the sure foundation, the chief cornerstone. Both the apostles Peter and Paul declare that God’s CHURCH is the ultimate “spiritual house,” and that inside this “spiritual house” are “lively stones”—Holy Spirit-filled human beings who are offering up “spiritual sacrifices” (cf. Ephesians 2:20-22; 1 Peter 2:5).

Thus, God’s “lively stones,” like His cornerstone, “…should be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:27, KJV). In other words, for today’s institutional churches to be in “spiritual order,” they must unite as ONE glorious CHURCH that has the same spiritual matter in every “living stone” that is in God—supernatural Love, Holiness, Righteousness, Truth, Faith, Peace, Unity, Grace, Mercy, Joy, Kindness, and so forth! Having this spiritual matter in common is the only way that today’s believers can be those genuine “lively stones” who offer up acceptable “spiritual sacrifices” to God!  AMEN.

“Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 2:5).

Christ Is More Than Our Fire Insurance

It is sad to say, but so many Christians became Christians only because they wanted to qualify for God’s fire insurance. If we are true believers, then it should be apparent to us that Jesus the Christ wants to be more to us than the ONE who provides our fire insurance.

That’s right! Jesus the Christ wants to be more to us than someone who just saves us from eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire. He wants us to recognize Him not only as our Savior but also as our brother, advocate, healer, Lord, and so much more. In other words, Jesus the Christ not only wants us to have eternal life but also an abundant life right here on Earth. He wants us to live an incredibly wealthy life—a life full of God’s favor, love, and kindness, as well as a life full of the oneness and peace that are in the Lord!

That is why Jesus the Christ’s death doesn’t just reconcile and restore us back to a right relationship with God. Incontestably, by sacrificing His life, Jesus the Christ also succeeds in destroying the whole system of the Jewish Law—that system which established the wall of hostility that separated Gentiles from Hebrews. By breaking down the wall that separated us (Hebrews and Gentiles), Jesus the Christ also makes peace between us by making ALL nations/ethnicities ONE Body of believers.

Now, we who are Gentiles are no longer outsiders by birth. We no longer live in this lost world without God and without hope, because after we accepted Jesus the Christ as our Lord and Savior we became members of God’s household of faith and members of His Holy Temple for the Lord—One Body in Jesus the Christ.

Thus, our Lord’s atoning sacrifice makes it possible for us (true believers) to come to the Father through the Holy Spirit! Let us then not come into God’s presence just to thank Him for our eternal life away from the Lake of Fire. Let us also thank God for filling us with endless spiritual treasures—the fullness of His life and His power—that ONLY have been made available to us because of Jesus the Christ! AMEN.

“Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby” (Ephesians 2:15-16, KJV; cf. Romans 6:6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Colossians 1:22).

Helping EVERY Overtaken In A Fault Believer

Although every church has wonderfully gifted counselors, the reconciliation and restoration of sinning Christians is not a ministry for one, or two, or three individuals. It is the ministry of each church’s entire congregation! We believers are responsible for others, for we are our brothers and sisters’ keepers.

Thus, EVERY Spirit-filled believer is a Christian counselor who is expected to lead “fallen” believers to a higher level of spirituality through example, through prayer, and through sound discipleship. Furthermore, when using God’s Word to correct a sinning believer’s behavior, we must be sure to instruct every sinning believer about the beneficial ways he or she can put God’s Word into practice.

There’s no carnal/fleshly way to accomplish this responsibility, because to reconcile and restore a believer back to a productive spiritual life we must minister to him or her on a spiritual level. This spiritual protocol should be used whenever Christians fall into traps of despair, depression, discouragement, sexual immorality, substance abuse, and so forth.

When churches do not function as a healing community to such people, then the CHURCH’S witness and/or reputation, as a whole Body, is besmirched. We who are spiritual believers, time and time again, are guilty of tainting the CHURCH’S witness and/or reputation when we shirk our duty to help reconcile and restore individuals “overtaken” by sin and/or addictions (temptations). We who are spiritual believers, time and time again, have tainted the CHURCH’S witness and/or reputation when we fail to use all of the Holy Spirit’s resources that God has made available to us. We who are spiritual believers, time and time again, have tainted the CHURCH’S witness and/or reputation when we wound or kill our “fallen” brothers and sisters with our “friendly fire”—our hateful criticisms, unloving correction methods, and exclusive fellowship.

How willing are we to do good works for good works’ sake, as opposed to doing good works because we want our works to be praised by men and women? How willing are we to put our own reputations, lives, and/or personal possessions/money on the line to help anyone who has been labeled as too far-gone to help?  AMEN.

“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do go unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10, KJV; cf. John 9:4; 1 Timothy 6:18).
