This New Year, as we turn over a new leaf and hope to do better, I pray that our Lord’s presence and guidance will be with us all, as we face the future. With every uncertainty of life that lies ahead of us, I pray that our Lord will continue to assure us of His unchanging love while kindling within us our faith in His hope and plan for our future.
The secular world teaches people about why they neither should put their cherished possessions in blackened, greasy, brown paper bags, nor put them in beaten beyond recognition, bloodstained wrappings. For sure, worldly riches’ very “attractive” wrappings are why too many people are deceived about wealth’s value, and why too many people become more covetous (greedy) as they pursue money and possessions, all while believing that anything that is free, shabbily wrapped, and/or badly beaten neither can be profitable nor valuable.
The Lord predicted that there would be much lawlessness in the last days. Yet even though we say that we know we are living in those prophesied last days, our awareness doesn’t make it any easier for us to understand why absolute evil would be allowed to take the lives of the 20 innocent small children who were attending Sandy Hook Elementary School. Yesterday’s shootings left this blogger speechless!?!?!?!?!
Commercially speaking, there is the Christmas Season that for many people now means the Christmas Shopping Season, which officially begins in late November, usually right after Thanksgiving, and ends in early January. Unfortunately, today there are far too many Christians who tend to be more caught up in the Christmas Shopping Season than they are gripped by the true meaning of and real reason for celebrating the Christmas Season.
There are countless Christian men and women who know and understand “something” that the entire Body of Christ needs to know and understand, yet when it comes to freely sharing whatever they have received from God that number is a small amount! Sadly, the reason why this statement is true is because way too many Christians, who have received from God spiritual insight, or spiritual understanding, or spiritual knowledge, and/or spiritual wisdom, have a lack of godly faith, which compounded their love for money.
