Although God never says in His Word that it is His Will that His children DO NOT celebrate their birthdays, there are countless Christians who believe that because bad things happened on most of the birthdays mentioned in the Holy Bible then this fact means it is NOT God’s Will that birthdays should be celebrated. Other believers maintain that since birthday celebrations have a pagan origin that this truth also is why celebrating birthday’s is NOT God’s Will.

Be that as it may. Biblically speaking, there is nowhere in the Word of God (the Holy Bible) that God condemns the celebration of birthdays as being sinful! Furthermore, for example, just like a biblical harvest celebration in itself is NOT automatically sinful or wrong, the same is true about a birthday celebration. Case in point, before God mandated the seven annual Feast Days (Passover to Tabernacles), which are seasonal harvest festivals that today still are celebrated, pagans also held their own harvest festivals that were dedicated to the remembrance and veneration of their gods! If God allows His chosen people to celebrate their harvests, which are celebrations that also have a pagan origin, then why would He not want His adopted children to NOT celebrate their birthdays, when they are in remembrance of the life He gave to them?

The Divine Truth is that in EVERYTHING that believers do, they must avoid ungodly behaviors, like the pagans’ wild revelries and orgies that were associated with the celebrations of a birthday, a wedding, a funeral, a harvest, and other well-known traditionally festive events. This Divine Truth means that if believers in Christ Jesus are commemorating birthdays, weddings, funerals, and/or the harvest festivals today according to pagan customs (i.e., wild revelries and orgies), then it is this ungodly behavior that would not be God’s Will and NOT the birthday celebration in itself.

Happy Birthday Nadine, 63

Lastly, my birthday celebration is nothing more than a remembrance of the date of my biological birth, which is March 6, and for me this remembrance makes my birthday similar to an anniversary. That is why on today, the anniversary of my birth, I take the time to remember, rejoice, and enjoy myself, as well as take the time on my day of birth to reflect on God’s Love, Mercy, Grace, and the long Life He has given to me.

Thank You God for allowing me to see year 63! I am so abundantly blessed!
