The institutional “church” behaves just like worldly brands/businesses–individual churches advertise the “church” positions/jobs they need to fill. Sadly, most of today’s churches ONLY rely on someone’s secular credentials that are listed on a résumé or CV (curriculum vitae)–the first item that an employer who is seeking to hire personnel encounters; the short account of someone’s career and qualifications usually prepared by a JOB SEEKER. This document typically is used to screen job applicants, and an interview often follows the screening. This preferred procedure is why today’s institutional church isn’t depending on God’s credentials–His called, appointed, equipped, endowed, anointed and sent Holy Spirit-filled five-fold ministry believers in Christ.

Furthermore, nowhere in the Bible does God say His Houses of Prayer are supposed to be run by HIRED personnel (hired pastors/shepherds). In fact, Christ calls that hired pastor/shepherd the robber/thief (hired hand) who enters the sheepfold only to steal, kill and destroy. Christ says this robber/thief is the hired hand who is “…not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep,” because he or she “…sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep.” ~ John 10:10, 12-13, NASB

What I have discovered is that most churches and their congregations aren’t looking for a God-sent Pastor who is saved and Holy Spirit filled and chosen by GOD to serve and shepherd them.  What they are looking for is someone who proclaims that they are saved and sent by GOD as opposed to actually being God-sent and saved and who agrees to maintain their religious belief system and doctrinal status quo.

What they really want is someone who looks good as their pastor and who isn’t controversial as Christ was.  Who they really want to hire as their Pastor is someone who brings worldly credentials, academic accolades as well as ecclesiastical certificates of licenses, charm and charisma.

GOD and his choice of Pastor isn’t a consideration for them nor are they interested in the message The LORD may have sent to them through His Chosen Vessels/Messengers.

All they really want…
