“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord GOD,
“When I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water,
But rather for hearing the words of the LORD.
“People will stagger from sea to sea
And from the north even to the east;
They will go to and fro to seek the word of the LORD,
But they will not find it.” ~ Amos 8:11-12, NASB

But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. ~ 2 Timothy 3:1-5, NASB

If a little learning is a dangerous thing,
                    How much will bring
                    Freedom, Peace, and Security
In a world saturated with heady,
                    High-minded, trucebreakers; covetous
                    Traitors, unthankful, unholy impetuous
                    Boasters, self-loving blasphemers,
                    Disobedient, unnatural lovers
                    Who prefer worldly pleasures
More than they aspire to spiritual heights—
To know, love, trust, and obey God? What He delights!

                    We’ve outrivaled past knowledge seekers,
                                        ‘tis true,
Only to unearth a godliness that’s skewed,
For the learning in which we most trust
Is New Age fables that dismiss the Creator
                                        of dust
And the power of His Breath that fills our
Making molded-earthen bodies living souls—godly models.

Though ensnared, from time eternal, by the
                                      old Serpent
Who succeeded to outwit through wily ways,
Countless faithful minds still longed for
                    Godly wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and,
                                        what’s more,
                    The Gift of everlasting life,
For righteous, spiritual knowers, know, that, in
                                        Jesus’ name,
The hunter gets captured by the game.
