Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you. ~ Exodus 20:12, NASB
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment with a promise), SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH. ~ Ephesians 6:1-3, NASB
Blessed to see a brand-new day
Blessed to see my 66th born day
Blessed with joy, love, help, and hope
Blessed with all things within the scope
Of Grace and Shalom flowing my way.
Commandment promise not in other—
Humans must honor father and mother
So lives on Earth might be prolonged
For children who relationally belonged
In world’s families as sister or brother.
Second oldest child in family of four
Three in sixties, one fifties, but one more—
Stillborn sister born with no life signs
Every day reminds me why gratitude lines
Should magnify and glorify and adore
Elohim for waking me up one more time
And gifting me with the flair to rhyme.
Today is my 66th birthday! Thank You, Father God, for letting me see another day—one that happens to be my born day! To God be the Glory!
May your cup be full and overflowing! Happy Birthday Nadine ♡We are both on route 66 this year…
Mother Hen,
Thank you so much, Roberta! I actually thought about “Route 66”–the television show–today, when I contemplated the significance of the number 66. I believe you have been on this route about a week or so longer than I.
Every blessing,
Nadine
So funny! Yes, I got a head start, but we have the same destination. Praise God!
