One hundred eleven years later, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is still going strong. As of June 2018, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has nearly 300,000 college-trained members who are still committed to sisterhood, scholarship, and service to all mankind.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated will be 110 years old on January 15, 2018. By being of “Service to All Mankind,” there can be no doubt that for many of these 110 years me and my fellow strong, dignified, and elegant Sorors have contributed to the countless lives our marvelous Sorority has affected.
I neither paint nor draw, and, while I do take photographs, I took none of the ones in these illustrated haiku poems. For these reasons, I thank every artist and every photographer whose exquisite artworks helped me explain the meanings of my haiku poems. Most of my haiku poems that I included in each illustrated haiku are from Perfect Peace (2015)—my collection of haiku poetry. The other haiku poems were created between March 2015 and November 2016.
“Service to Others” is so much more than JUST a short statement or phrase that succinctly condenses the beliefs, truths and principles that guide me. For sure, the “Service to Others” motto and/or credo actually defines my perpetual attitude, which has echoes that ricochet off my Christian lifestyle and reverberate in every institution, organization, and etc., that I currently belong to—or used to be a member of, at one time or another.
