King Solomon was very wise. There really isn’t anything new in our world today. Not hatred! Not injustice! Not racism! Not sexism! Not ageism! Not religious persecution! Not political biases! Not partiality! Not anything that human beings communicate—especially if what they say or do expresses something negative or anything that is in opposition to God’s intended purposes for humanity.
In America, February is Black History Month—an annual celebration of African-Americans’ achievements. This month also is a time for recognizing the crucial role Blacks played, and continue to play, in U.S. history.
February is Black History Month—a time set aside to celebrate the achievements of Black Americans (a.k.a., African Americans) and to recognize the central role(s) many of them have played in U.S. history. However, this year these facts seem to have been overshadowed by all of the Super Bowl hoopla and the incessant hype used to stoke interest in Valentine’s Day.
