We are meant to be lighthouses aligning the shores of the sea of life—shining our lights in such a way that we become beacon lights that guide the world’s unsaved masses to the true Light. In other words, we believers in Christ are called to be visible lights that point spiritually unenlightened souls to the true Light of the world—Jesus Christ.
Natural darkness is more convenient for career sinners—thieves, robbers, drug pushers, murderers, prostitutes, adulterers, and so forth—who find it easier to commit their evil deeds in darkness. Sadly, there also are carnal Christians who find natural and spiritual darkness to be more convenient, because they prefer their old life of habitual sinning to their new life of faith walking. Therefore, because they love their sins and hate having them exposed by God’s Light, both career sinners and carnal Christians choose to walk in their own ways—the ways of darkness—instead of choosing to embrace the supernatural Light of Jesus Christ, believing totally in the Word of God’s divine Truths, and walking only in God’s Ways.
