Paying attention to myself by presenting myself with some sweet birthday wishes isn’t what I normally do. However, because my body and soul need to feel happy and loved today, of all days, I decided to wish myself a happy birthday, hoping that I might want to celebrate my born day.
I am a Baby Boomer who finally has become a Senior Citizen—retired and living on a pension. Sometimes this transition feels like it happened overnight; nevertheless, I wouldn’t change my life’s journey for anything in this world. Moreover, for example, since 65 is 15 years younger than Moses was when he spoke to Pharaoh about letting the Hebrews go, I consider my advanced age to mean it is quite possible that my greatest contributions to the Body of Christ are yet to come.
“They say it’s your birthday/It’s my birthday too, yeah/They say it’s your birthday/We’re gonna have a good time/I’m glad it’s your birthday/Happy birthday to you” ~ lyrics from The Beatles 1968 “Birthday” song. Thank You God for allowing me to see another born day!
