21 years, 50 years, Christ loves me, high school graduation, Jesus Christ, July, June, lonely, Lord, loyal, married, momentous occasions, poem, single, spiritual husband, state legalized divorce, strong, unloved

But he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.  So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment—when I’m surrounded with troubles on every side and face persecution because of my love for Christ—I am made yet stronger. For my weakness becomes a portal to God’s power.  – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, TPT

This month, it will be 50 years since I graduated from high school. To celebrate this auspicious event, my high school classmates are planning to hold our 50th class reunion in August.

That was a fast 50 years! For sure, it is hard for me to believe that 50 years ago this month I graduated from the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial High School, which is still located on the same street corners in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Next month, I also will experience another momentous occasion – one that is even harder for me to wrap my head around.  Nevertheless, on July 16, I will be acknowledging that my marriage legally ended 21 years ago. However, what will be even harder for some of my family and friends to believe is that I am still single – never married nor wanted to marry another man. Now, while at times, thinking about my single status often has made me feel lonely and unloved, whenever that happened Christ via His Holy Spirit was right there to remind me that I am married to the most loving Man who ever lived – Jesus Christ.

Without a doubt, Christ loves me.  Most definitely, I love Him, too. That is why, for me, staying strong and loyal to my Lord is my only option. No matter whatever weaknesses I may have or whatever troubles, persecutions, mistreatments, or sorrows that may come my way, I can rest assured that Christ, my spiritual Husband, won’t ever betray me or forsake me.

I was reminded this morning about how I can always count on this above-mentioned Divine Truth, and then I was led to compose the following poem:

  Got to Stay Strong

Though one of four living children
Mom had, I was always on my own,
Forced to walk tall and stand strong
Years before I was legally grown.

Neither college nor military changed
A thing for me, though one of many
People traveling on these same roads
I recall who had my back – not any.

Marriage started out on right track
But over time never made two one;
I was left alone in loneliness often
Divorce undid what love had done.

Only time my life ever made sense
Was when Christ showed me Love
Minute by minute, hour by hour
And day by day via a Holy Dove.

Christ’s Love for me grew stronger
And bathed me in such Tenderness
Even through my wilderness journey
I knew His  measureless.

Though one of untold living saints
Christ has, I’m not left on my own,
He loves, inspires, honors, covers,
Protects me like no one I’ve known.

He truly has my back – gives ample
Support like the true Husband He is,
For these reasons I got to stay strong
And loyal to Him who made me His.

To God be the Glory. Amen!

Be a Visible Light

Be A Visible Light

Corrupt minds need to see the Savior’s Light. In order for believers in Christ to be able to lead sin-sick souls to His Light, their lights cannot be hidden.

We are meant to be lighthouses aligning the shores of the sea of life—shining our lights in such a way that we become beacon lights that guide the world’s unsaved masses to the true Light. We are meant to contribute to the way in which these drifters are drawn nearer to that true Light. In a nutshell, our shining lights are their hope—often their only hope or their last hope. Be that as it may; our shining lights confirm the importance of the Light’s saving Power—confirms that any lost wayfarer can be rescued.

Just like our physical light (sun) is necessary for physical life, our spiritual light (our portion of the Son’s Light) is necessary for spiritual life. This truth is why believers are called to be visible lights that point spiritually unenlightened souls to the true Light of the world—Jesus Christ. In addition to leading others to the Lord, believers’ visible spiritual lights are to shine so that their lights help to restrain the moral corruption that is in this sinful world.

Let us be the visible spiritual lights God intends for us to be. Neither our inner lights nor the Gospel’s Light will benefit others, if we cover up or hide our lights and the Gospel’s Light. Let us let the good works we do for Christ and for mankind be the lights that shine in this world for the Glory of God. Let us also share the Gospel’s Light with as many people as we can, whenever the opportunity presents itself.

How brightly is your light shining in this world? Does your light glorify God by the way your good works influence lost and wayward souls to seek Christ—the true Light? Shalom.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” ~ Mt 5:14-16

Keep it real…Live it out…Watch it work!

I Love Jesus, Yes I Do!

I Love Jesus

“LOVE is when a MAN wipes your tears, even after you left Him hanging on the Cross with your sins.” ~ Author Unknown

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ~ Matthew 22:37-39, ESV

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, ESV

We love because he first loved us. ~ 1 John 4:19, ESV

“A woman’s heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.” ~ Max Lucado

I love Jesus because He first loved me. I love Jesus because He first taught me everything I would ever need to know about the God kind of Love. I love Jesus because He also taught me how to see with my heart the things my eyes can’t see. I love Jesus because His Love, Grace, and Atoning Sacrifice have liberated me. I love Jesus because He is preparing a place for me, and I love Jesus because He is coming back for me to take me to that place He has prepared. He truly is my Savior, my Lord, my King, my Healer, my Provider, my Rock, my Strong Tower, my Shelter from the storm(s), my Brother, my Friend; indeed, He’s my Everything.

Since Father God and Jesus Christ both Love everyone, no one who has been blessed by their pure deep Love should ever take their Love for granted. Moreover, every recipient of Father God and Jesus Christ’s love won’t have any excuses for not putting into practice the same kind of Love they have received from the Creator and His Son. Lastly, the bottom line is that everyone’s loving response to Jesus (and to mankind) only is possible because of the Lord’s amazing Love for each of us, which He showed us while we were yet sinners.

Why do you love Jesus? What is it about your love for Him that lets Him know your love is genuine? How have you demonstrated your love for the human race (everybody . . . regardless of known ancestry, or skin color, or professed religion, or national origin, or cultural distinctions, or political party, or education level, or financial status, and so forth)?
