Spiritual wisdom is not the same as secular/worldly wisdom. It is God’s spiritual wisdom that teaches us that we find “life” and God’s approval, when we avoid evil, even the appearance of evil, and stick like glue to that which is “good” in God’s sight. Put differently, when we find God’s spiritual wisdom, and apply it to/in our lives, we find the kind of abundant “life” God intends for us to have. However, if we do not find God’s spiritual wisdom, or if we find it yet do not apply it to/in our lives, but instead hold on tightly to worldly or secular wisdom, then we are flirting with death.
To guarantee that our human spirit is fertile ground from which will come much spiritual fruit, we need a sower who is concerned about sowing a “good seed.” We need Jesus the Christ as our Lord and personal Savior, and we need the Word of God. Once the sower sows that “good seed” (Word of God), then we, the hearers, will need to be receptive to, thankful for, faithful and obedient to, and cheerful, good stewards of the heard Divine Truth.
