The lotus flower, which is known for its phenomenal beauty, ironically, needs the thick mud and murk at the bottom of a lotus pond before it can rise unsoiled – cleaned by the dirty water in which it lives – start to open its petals (one-by-one), and bloom in the sun.
Even though all believers in Christ are promised eternal life, all believers must understand that believing is more than giving intellectual assent to Christ’s Existence or His Redemptive Work. Believing also means Christ’s Ekklesia (His One Body of Believers or One Community of Faith Believers) is His collective Bride who uses everything He gave to Her to help Her become His saintly Overcomers.
Too many professed believers in Christ are resting on their laurels—are living like they are satisfied with their past achievement (salvation), so much so that they refuse to consider additional effort from them is necessary. They have assumed that their salvation automatically made them the Bride of Christ—made them saintly Overcomers. As a result, they either overlooked the Scripture that commands them to work out their own salvation, or they read and studied said Scripture but concluded it does not pertain to them.
As a new creation in Christ Jesus, by God’s Grace and the supernatural power of His Holy Spirit, I am not only born again from above, as well as being completely changed inwardly—gone through a spiritual rebirth, and going through the process of sanctification—but also I have received God’s new Grace and holiness principles, which His Holy Spirit has implanted in my soul. In essence, as a new creation in Christ Jesus, I now have His Light, His Life, His Affections, His Desires, His Joy, and His Peace, etc.
